Privacy policy

BOLD Accounting Pty Ltd(“Bold Accounting”, “we”, “us”) is an accounting and taxation practice based at Ground Floor, 4 Christie Street, Windsor NSW 2756. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Depending on the services you engage us for, we may collect:

• Name, contact details and date of birth
• Tax file numbers, ABNs and ATO account details
• Financial records — income, expenses, bank data, payroll and superannuation information
• Identity documents required to verify you as a client
• Information about your business, its structure and its officeholders

We collect this directly from you wherever possible. We may also receive it from the ATO, ASIC, your bookkeeper, your bank or your accounting software with your authority.

To provide the services you have engaged us for; to meet our obligations as a registered tax agent and under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009; to verify your identity as required by the Tax Practitioners Board; to communicate with you; and to comply with anti-money-laundering and record-keeping laws.

We may disclose your information to:

• The Australian Taxation Office and ASIC
• Your independent SMSF auditor, where we act for a self-managed super fund
• Software providers we use to deliver our services (for example Xero), which may store data on servers outside Australia
• Lenders and aggregators, where you have asked us to arrange finance
• Anyone you expressly authorise in writing, such as your solicitor or financial adviser

We do not sell your information, and we do not disclose it for marketing purposes.

Records are held in secure cloud-based practice management and accounting systems with access limited to staff who need it. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Where information is held offshore by a service provider, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

This website does not require an account and does not run third-party advertising trackers. If you submit an enquiry form we receive the details you provide so we can respond. Basic technical data (such as pages requested and approximate location) may be logged by our hosting provider for security and performance purposes.

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time — email office@boldaccounting.com.au or call 02 9145 2863. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
